This website has been on a bit of a hiatus for the last several months. Recently, I was in the process of moving for a new job and all of the details that go with that. Now that the move has been made and the job is about to start (yay!) I’ll be back to this website with more frequency.
Hi there! My name is Dr. Bradley J. “Brad” Sommer, PhD. I recently received my PhD in American History from Carnegie Mellon University. I specialize in labor, class, class theory, urban, and African American history. A strong advocate of higher education, I was recently the President & CEO of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS). I’m currently on the job market, looking into careers in teaching, higher education, policy, research, nonprofits, and writing. This website serves as my personal and professional website. It's the best way to contact me and is where I will post any historical work I am working on. In my spare time, I enjoy long walks around Pittsburgh, sports and theatre, and books.
